What single items do you move?

Sofas (large corner sofas included), pianos, wardrobes, beds, fridges, washing machines, dining tables and anything else that won't go in a car. It might be one thing you've bought on Facebook Marketplace, a piece of furniture going to a family member, or an appliance that needs to come out before new flooring goes in.

Can you collect something I've bought on Marketplace?

Yes. Give us the collection address, a contact number for the seller and a rough size, and we'll collect it and bring it to you. It's worth asking the seller how it came into the house: some sofas and wardrobes were built in the room and need taking apart to come out. If the seller can't be there, we'll need someone who can let us in and confirm it's the right item.

How do you move a piano or a heavy item?

Carefully, and with enough people. Pianos and heavy pieces are moved by a crew with the blankets and straps for the job, and we look at the route first: steps, turns in the stairs and door widths. Tell us what kind of piano it is when you book so we send the right number of people.

What about stairs and flats?

Stairs and flats are no problem. We're used to staircases, narrow hallways and high-rise flats. If something won't turn a corner in one piece, we'll take it apart where that's possible and rebuild it at the other end. Tell us about lifts, steps and any long carry from where the van can park, so we can plan the right number of people.

What should I do before you arrive?

Measure the item and the doorways it has to fit through, and clear a path at both ends. Empty drawers and cupboards so they're lighter and nothing slides about. Fridges and freezers should be defrosted beforehand, and washing machines need disconnecting and draining. If a sofa has removable feet or cushions, take them off and bag them up.

Is my item insured?

Yes. A single sofa is insured the same way as a full house move, from the moment we pick it up to the moment we put it down. In the rare event of damage, our insurance covers it and we'll sort it out quickly and fairly.

How quickly can you do it?

Single items are the jobs we can most often fit in quickly. We can usually collect and deliver on the same day, and same-day or next-day bookings are often possible. Evenings and weekends are available too.

How is a single item move priced?

It depends on the item, the distance and how many people it takes to move it safely. For a quick quote, tell us what it is, the two addresses, and any stairs or tight spots at either end. A photo helps. The price we agree is the price you pay.

Moving more than one thing?

If one sofa turns into a sofa, a wardrobe and a few boxes, that's still fine. We'll send a bigger van, or quote it as a small house move instead.
