What does a house removal with us include?
Everything from a one-bed flat to a family home. We bring the van, the crew and the kit: moving blankets to wrap furniture, straps to hold the load still on the road, and the tools to take beds, wardrobes and tables apart and put them back together at your new place.
If you'd like help with packing, we can supply packing materials and help with the boxing. If you'd rather pack yourself, that's fine too. We load what's ready and wrap the bigger pieces on the day.
How many movers and what size van will I need?
Most house moves are done by two to four movers, depending on how much is going and how far it has to be carried. Our vans run from small vans for a few rooms up to a Luton with a tail lift for a full house, so we can send the size that suits the job.
Not sure what you need? Tell us how many bedrooms you have and roughly what's going, and we'll suggest the van and crew when we quote. If a bigger move needs two runs, we'll tell you that before the day, not on it.
How far ahead should I book?
For a full house move, book at least 2 to 5 days ahead to secure your date. Smaller moves can often be fitted in same-day or next-day, and we can work evenings and weekends when that suits you better. Ring us as soon as you have a completion date and we'll pencil you in.
What happens on moving day?
We turn up at the agreed time, walk round with you to see what's going and what's staying, then wrap and load. Fragile and heavy pieces are blanketed and strapped, and furniture that won't go through a door safely is taken apart first.
At the other end, everything goes into the room you want it in and beds are rebuilt. We can also mount TVs and do small repairs if you ask. Stairs, narrow hallways and high-rise flats are part of the job, and we're used to all three.
Do I need to be there?
Not always. As long as we have clear instructions and access at both ends, we can carry out the move without you on site. Just tell us who will let us in and which rooms things should go to.
How is a house move priced?
Every move is priced on what's going, how far it's going and how many movers it needs, so we quote each one rather than publishing a price list. The price you agree is the price you pay, with no hidden fees and no surprises on moving day. If your list changes before the move, tell us and we'll adjust the quote.
Moving further than County Durham?
We cover the whole of the UK mainland, so a move from Sedgefield to Scotland, Devon or anywhere in between is handled by the same crew from start to finish.
